New Swimming Pool Update-
The architect continues finalizing plans for the pool. They should be ready to go out to bid by the end of November. It includes a 6 lane by 25-yard lap pool, a separate activity area, a wading area, a single-helix slide, a diving board, plenty of deck space and furniture, a zero-entry area for handicapped accessibility, a separate splash pad, and other features. Here is a color concept drawing of the proposed pool facility: 2017-10-23 Blissfield Pool Rendering.jpg
The Village is in the process of purchasing property directly east of and adjacent to Farver Little League Field, off Sugar St. The purchase could be complete by the end of November, as well.
A group of concerned citizens has launched a fundraising campaign to enhance the features at the pool. They hope to raise funds for a larger double-helix slide, a climbing wall, starting blocks at the 6 lanes in the lap pool, a community rental space, and other features. Here is a copy of a letter they plan to send out in the near future: Pool project community appeal - 2017.pdf Also, here is a press release begin sent out regarding the campaign: Pool Press Release for Fundraisng - 2017.pdf Last, here is a form you can use if you’d like to donate: Pool project Fundraising Donation Form - 2017.pdf
