Safety City Information-

The Blissfield Police Department is again hosting Safety City for the children entering Kindergarten this year. Safety City is scheduled for August 24-28. The hours are 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Blissfield Elementary School. Safety City is designed to reduce injuries to young children by teaching them how to be safe in their world. The program is broken up into three areas. One area teaches them hands on about general traffic safety when they drive battery powered cars, pedal bikes or walk as pedestrians on a painted traffic area. Each day we will have a guest speaker talk about bike safety, poison safety, fire safety, electrical safety and bus safety. The third part of the day is in a classroom setting with games and activities about the theme for the day as well as a snack. Each child will receive a bike helmet and a Safety City T-Shirt. To help with the costs there is a $15 registration fee. Scholarships are available by seeing Chief Greenleaf. Please send fee and registration to the Village Office by August 7, 2015. Advanced registration is required. Registration forms are available on line at www.blissfieldmichigan.gov, under the police department’s page, and also at the Village Office.
